America's New Powerbrokers
S. Robert Lichter, Stanley Rothman, and Linda S. Lichter
A Smith College political science professor and two research associates from Columbia's Research Insitute on International Change interviewed 240 journalists and gave them the Thematic Apperception Test. As one might expect, the TAT finds these journalists from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, among others to be urban, nonreligious, and liberal. They, not surprisingly, "subconsciously structure social reality" and search for and find "abuses of power."
